What if my Permanent Residency application gets rejected?
It is possible to appeal the decision made by Home Affairs or the South African Embassy, given you have plausible reasoning. It is important to note that you may only submit an appeal application during the 10 day window period. The 10 day window period begins on the date you receive the rejection letter.
Unfortunately, appealing a rejection can take much longer than the normal Permanent Residency processing times. Receiving a response or outcome regarding your appeal may take up to 24 months.
If you decide to appeal your application, it is advised that you consult with a professional who can give you suggestions on what steps to take further.
There is also a viable option to submit a brand new application rather than an appeal.
